Afghanistan has entered to the semi final

Afghanistan has entered to the semi finals in the ongoing 8th SAFF Championship 2013.

During the match held at Halchowk Ground in the capital today, Afghanistan defeated Sri Lanka by 3-1 in their second match under Group ‘B’. Though Sri Lanka led the match through a goal from Mohamed Fazal in 36th minute of the first half, Afghanistan netted three goals in the second half to pull the odds on their side. This is Afghanistan’s second straight win in the regional championship. The team had first played against Bhutan, beating them with a score of 3-0. Now, Afghanistan will play against Maldives on Friday. Similarly, In another match held this evening, Maldives defeated Bhutan by 8-2. For Maldives, Ali Asfaqu scored 4 goals, Ali Umar scored two and Mohammad Amyer and Ali Umar scored one goal each. For Bhutwan, Pasang and Chencho scored one goal each. Meanwhile, Nepal will play against 6th time SAFF Champion India tomorrow afternoon. The game will be held at 3.30 pm at Dasasarth Stadium. Similarly, Pakistan will face Bangladesh tomorrow.
