The United Democratic Madhesi Front has demanded the Election Commission to redetermine the election constituencies on the basis of population. A meeting held at the Bijulibazaar-based office of Terai Madhes democratic Party today made such demand. It has also asked to add one month time to update the voters' list. The front asked the EC to resume the voters’ list update at least for a month so as to enroll all the eligible voters who were earlier missed. The meeting also urged the government to approve 42 per cent seats under the proportional representation system and 58 per cent under the first-past-the-post. The meeting also emphasized on the need to hold Constituent Assembly election on scheduled date and promulgate the new constitution through Constituent Assembly.
