President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav today called for political unity to end the current stalemate. He suggested parties to come together to end the prolonged transition.
Speaking at a program at the President's Office in Shital Niwas, he urged all parties to take part in the elections to ensure timely constitution. Referring to what he said "failure on the part of the previous Constituent Assembly" to draft the constitution, President Dr. Yadav expressed the hope that the new Constituent Assembly will draft the new constitution. He, however, lauded the achievements made by the previous Constituent Assembly notwithstanding the failure draft the constitution. On the occasion, he revealed that he had earlier declined to reinstate the dissolved Constituent Assembly despite the parties' proposal for the same.
