President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav initiated political parleys with top leaders to ensure condusive environment for the purported CA elections.

He held separate meetings with Unified CPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal this morning. During the meeting held at Shital Niwas, President Dr. Yadav urged them to initiate efforts to create an environment that is conducive for holding the elections on the slated date. In response, Dahal told the President that efforts are on to convince the dissenting parties to take part in the elections. Maoist Chairman Dahal said election is the option to end the existing crisis. Likewise, UML senior leader Nepal informed journalists that the discussions basically focussed on creating favorable environment for polls, talks with the poll-opposing parties, among other issues. Nepal also hinted at the possibility of restructuring the high level political committee to ensure free and fair elections. According to leader Nepal, President Dr. Yadav urged political leaders to endeavor towards holding timely elections.
