Police arrested five persons accused of carrying out the bomb blast at Babarmahal in February last year that had killed three persons.
The arrested persons are Birendra Kumar Tamang, Nima Sherpa, Bhani Nath, Sun Bahadur Pariyar and Santosh Majhi. They all are members of the Samyukta Jatiya Mukti Morcha that had claimed responsibly for the deadly blast. Police also recovered explosive materials and detonators from them.
They were arrested from Kapan, Bauddha and Balaju areas in Kathmandu. Chief of the outfit, Depraj Lama alias Bishwokranti, who is accused of masterminding the blast, is currently in jail, pending final verdict. He was arrested in June last year. Three persons had died and several others injured in the blast in front of Nepal Oil Corporation office at Babarmahal on February 27, 2012.
