election code of conduct not acceptable for CPN-Maoist, will continue reject conditional talks

CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidhya reiterated his stance of refraining from holding conditional talks with the political parties and the government. Speaking at an interaction in Lalitpur, Baidhya said his party would not sit for talks that are conditional. He added that his party's stance to boycott the elections is intact. Baidhya, however, indicated at the possibility of sitting for dialogue if the government proposed unconditional talks. Likewise, party secretary Dev Gurung said the party would would not reconsider its decision to boycott the polls at any cost. CPN-Maoist General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa has said the election code of conduct would not be acceptable to his party. Speaking at a program in Lalitpur, Thapa said the code of conduct announced without the consent of his party would not be acceptable. He dubbed the code of conduct as undemocratic. He also said that his party would sit for talks provided that the government invited his party for dialogue without any pre-condition.
