First national club swimming competition started in Kathmandu

The first national club swimming competition has started in Kathmandu today. On the first day of the game, Sirish Gurung of Nepal Police club grabbed 4 gold medals. Gurung grabbed gold in each 100 and 400 meter free styles, 202 meter butterfly and 100 meter backstroke. He completed the target of 400 meter free style in 4 minutes 49.5 seconds. Sirish had defeated Dilip Thapa and kabindra Thapa Magar of Tribhuwan Army Club in 100 meter backstroke and 200 meter butterfly respectively. Likewise, Dinesh Manandhar of Rotary club grabbed gold and Jayanta Prakash Gurung of Marigold club grabbed silver medal. In womens category, Sila Joshi of Marigold club grabbed 2 gold medals on the first day. She won gold in 200 meter backstroke and free style category. Sila defeated Rakshya POudel and Eva Kafle. Altogether 137 players from 20 teams have participated in 2 days competition.
