Koirala on Six day visit to Delhi

Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala left for New Delhi on a six-day visit at the official invitation of the Indian government. He is accompanied by party general secretaries - Prakash Man Singh and Krishna Sitaula. Talking to journalists before his departure at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Koirala said that his is a goodwill visit to India. He added that the Constituent Assembly election slated for November 19 will be conducted at any cost. Koirala added that Congress will not make any compromise against the elections. He also made it clear that his party has consistently been urging the bloc of 33 poll-opposing parties to participate in the election. NC President Koirala is scheduled to meet Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Indian Minister of External Affairs Salman Khurshid, among others. He is also scheduled to meet Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav. Earlier, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala met with Chairman of the Interim Election Council, Khil Raj Regmi and apprised him about his India visit. On the occasion, Regmi hoped that Koirala's visit to India would help in further strengthening ties between the two neighbors. Likewise, they also discussed on the upcoming Constituent Assembly elections, talks with the agitating parties, among other issues
